Short and Sweet

I had planned on writting after the England game and apologize for the delay. Its been a little hectic here with the US loss and the post game comments. I am going to make this short and sweet because I am an hour away from my bedtime. Its 6pm, yes I am a grandma, but I have to be up at 3 a.m. for the US vs Norway game at 4:55.

We played a heck of a lot better against England but still never played a full 90 to our level. I can honestly say, this team is so much better than the team you saw the entire tournament. Brazil- well they are a very good team. The own goal was unfortunate but 2-0, the US still can score 1 and be back in it but the ridiculous red card on Shannon Boxx was the turning point in the game. It is tough enough playing 11 vs 11 against Brazil, so playing down a man was the worst possible scenario. The world saw first hand how good Marta can be. She is fun to watch and what I hear from my teammates, they deserve to be in the final as the better team.

Kind of ironic that the 2003 WC team lost 3-0 to Germany and came back to win the Gold the next year! I am hoping this team does the same thing and that I will join them. Thanks for watching and for being so supportive. This team will bounce back! Don't worry. Talk soon.
